Air Climber – Burn Calories and Fun Too

Air Climber

I just came across the Air Climber. It is a very affordable stepper that is small and easy to use. I really like the look of this product. It is not overly complicated, offers tons of ways to keep things interesting, low impact on the knees and ankles, and requires almost no room. Heck, you could get a great workout in while you are watching the news…

Jump over to the Air Climber page and see what I mean.

I have to get one of these and try it out. I will report back when I have some hands on info. If you have it or have tried it please let me know what you think in the comments.

Can’t Fall Asleep or Stay Asleep?

sleepagainlogo2

If you have this problem, like me, you know this is a big deal. I just added a review of a product call Sleep Again that has helped me a great deal. It didn’t solve every problem and bring world peace like some products claim to but I got good resultsĀ  that have lasted. All I can say is that the world is a MUCH better place with a decent night’s sleep.

I know I primarily focus on dieting and weight loss but sleep problems can play a big role in how effective you are with your diet or weight loss program. In fact, not getting enough sleep, especially chronic insomnia will create more havoc in your life that being overweight.

Check out the information and decide for yourself if Sleep Again might be right for you.

Visualization and Weight Loss – “See” Your Way To A New You!

The surprising fact is that many conditions can be improved by visualization and weight loss is definitely one of them. It works like this: you keep a vision in your mind of how you want your body to look, and subconsciously you will begin acting in a way that will go in that direction. You become much more positive about your body, more accepting of your diet or fitness routine, and you will reach your weight goals more quickly and easily.

Effecting change through visualizing desired outcomes has become more and more acceptable in recent years. Scientists do not understand exactly how it works but clearly the mind and body are not as separate as we may believe. Your goals are far more likely to become reality if you truly want something and can see ourselves having it – provided of course that it is something that is possible, and within your control. Visualization helps us to achieve our weight loss goals by creating a clear and happy picture of our body as we want it to be. Without this we can often put psychological traps in our own path.

Many people who are overweight believe they cannot lose weight. Sometimes you may say it out loud, or hear friends say it about themselves. The negative belief then stays in the subconscious and is sure that it influences our behavior. Someone who believes it is impossible for them to lose weight will be constantly battling their own negativity when they are trying to diet. Their mind will be constantly telling them that there is no point dieting, they cannot lose weight so just go ahead and eat everything you want. Visualization is the strongest technique that we can use to overcome these negative thoughts and impulses.

If you are plagued by negativity either from your own mind or from the reactions of friends and family to your diet, go ahead and visualize yourself at your desired weight as often as you can. When you are driving or riding the train and definitely before you fall asleep at night, imagine the new you. The you after you have lost weight. Imagine yourself moving around with ease and wearing the clothes you choose instead of what fits. It works on the same level as all those negative voices and can annihilate their influence like nothing else can.

It is important to practice every day – morning and evening if you can. You just need to take a few minutes in a quiet place and keep an image in your mind of your body at its ideal weight. Some people can do this easily, others need some help. If you have a photograph of yourself at your ideal weight in the past, you may find it easier to look at that. Or use a photo from a magazine but cut off the person’s face. You need to visualize your own body, but thinner. If you are having difficulty doing your visualization, don’t worry. It gets easier and easier the more you do it. In no time you will be able to visualize yourself at your finest without any effort at all.

You can also visualize from the inside. Close your eyes and let your awareness focus on a part of your body – for example, your right thigh. Imagine it slowly becoming thinner in your mind’s eye. Then move to the other thigh, and on through the body. It may help to start at the feet and move up towards the head, or vice versa.

As you go about your work or daily chores, think of yourself as already at your ideal weight. Create your own affirmations and repeat them often, always in the present tense (“I am glad to be flexible, fit and thin”, not “I will …”). Enjoy the feeling of having a positive self-image. Over time, this will help you to keep to your weight loss plan. You will find that fatty foods are less attractive and exercise is more enjoyable.

While your weight loss will of course be gradual, the wonderful thing about visualization is that it gives you a new body image right away. Use visualization and weight loss to make you happier right now, today, and make that thinner you a reality!

Guarana Pure or Acai Berry?

Dan Boxman, a great personal friend and a friend of DietJungle.net, has just posted a great article that discusses the differences between Guarana Pure and Acai Berry. They are both pretty similar but differ in some very important ways. Those differences can have a lot of impact on your success.

Dan’s article was originally up on Squidoo but I convinced him to move it over here.

I strongly recommend that you jump on over to Dan’s article.

The Sensible Diet – A DietJungle.net Must Read

There is a lot of diet information out there. We are bombarded with information about what we should and should not be eating. It seems that every one is an expert and if you “just eat like this” you will be thin and ripped in no time. As much as I would love to tell you it is all true, frankly, it is not.

Each of Us Are Different

We are all different. In my opinion, that is a good thing. We have different looks and different lifestyles. Perfect is not just about how you look. Perfect is about how you feel and the image you project to the world. The better you feel and the way you see yourself has an awful lot to do with how other people see you.

“I know, what does this have to do with your Sensible Diet?”

Set Yourself Up To Succeed

It has to do with setting yourself up to succeed. Diet’s come and go and everybody selling a diet today will be selling a different diet tomorrow. The doctors that love no carbs today will love no fat tomorrow. Each one is the best and the only way you can lose weight. Hogwash. It is not magic.

Eat Less Than Your Body Needs And You Lose Weight

It is really that simple. The reverse is also true, eat more than your body needs and gain weight.

The Sensible Diet

If you are new to dieting or have not been successful in the past, follow these few simple guidelines and you will achieve success. I have seen it over and over again.

Start out by eating the same food you are eating now but eat less. Pay attention and eat less. Eat a smaller steak, less potatoes, less soda, etc. After a bit, a week or two, move on to the next step.

The next step is to slowly introduce healthier foods in place of some high-calorie foods you are eating today. Have a yogurt instead of a bagel with cream cheese for example. That’s it. Try it with something else tomorrow.

The last step is just keep doing it. The combination of slowly stepping down the amount of food you eat with slowly improving your food choices will get you where you want to go – better health and a much smaller size.

The advantage is that it does it without leaving you feeling that sense of being deprived and having all the food you love ripped away from you. Also, since it happens slowly, it is building new habits that will become a normal part of how you think about food and eating.

Weight Loss Pills and Potions

Diet products are not required. Yes, I did say that. Diet products are not required. You can do this on your own without a single diet pill. Having said that, diet and weight loss pills, like Acai Berry, can speed your progress. They are not required but they will help you get there faster. It is up to you.

Either way, I do recommend a good multi-vitamin. It is difficult to get all the vitamins and minerals our bodies need through food alone. A good multi-vitamin can bridge that gap.

Wrap-up

I have had many clients change their lives by following these guidelines. Give it a shot and then shoot me an email and let me know how goes. I can also answer any questions you might have along the way.

Good Luck and Good Eating…

Winter Weight Gain – What You Can Do

Winter weight gain is a common problem of many people. It seems that every winter we add a few pounds. When summer comes, we don’t seem to lose all of them either. A few of them always stick around, making us a little heavier every year. As the years go by, it seems to get harder and harder to lose that extra weight! Why does this happen and what can we do?

There are many contributing factors. It seems that we have a genetic disposition to store more fat as winter approaches. Many animals do this and it was probably vital to survival for our ancestors. Extra layers of fat on the body protect us against the cold and then can be used as fuel in the late winter and early spring when food supplies would historically be low. The fall is also a big eating time. Historically, the fall is harvest time and during that time food is plentiful. In today’s day and age, fall is a time of food and family. Religious holidays and gatherings with friends and family provide considerably more opportunities to eat in excess.

Hormone levels can also influence our weight gain. The interaction of hormones and other chemicals in the brain can bring about variations in appetite and cravings. Some neurotransmitters can also influence the way we eat. People who are overweight often have low levels of these neurotransmitters and the results can include excessive appetite, depression and sleep disorders.

At the same time, the lack of daylight caused by the shortening days during late fall and winter can bring on seasonally affective disorder or winter depression. One of the quickest ways to give a boost to your energy levels and emotions is to eat high carbohydrate foods including sugar treats, chips and cereals that give us a fast blood sugar ‘fix’. So people who feel low in the winter will tend to overeat or eat the wrong foods, leading to weight gain, more depression and a vicious cycle that is hard to break.
